making, making , making - more cups in the assembly line

So far 75 cups have been physically made,
 some are being fired,
some have been decorated
or being decorated
and others are having their text written onto them,
and others are waiting for the text.

Dan's cup - Keep your eyes open, the opportunity to learn is everywhere!

Cathy's cup - I learnt that I like Vietnamese food in Footscray

Then I made a series of little animal and people portraits on cups, which is very characteristic of much of my work.  little joys!

About: Message in a Cup

Messages and stories of learning in Footscray are collected and then written onto the insides of one hundred handmade blue cups. The cups are placed in Footscray during BluScray events to be found by people and taken home. The project gives voice to peoples experiences and understandings of learning and shares these ideas with others in the city of Footscray.

Message in a Cup is part of BluScray,  a program of blue-themed arts and cultural events held throughout 2016 to celebrate Victoria University’s Centenary in collaboration with Maribyrnong City Council for the Footscray University Town initiative. Message in a cup was made by the artist Debbie Harman Qadri.

Placement 7 - The Nicholson street Campus library - learning is bliss!

Well all I can say is that this is a sweet cup.

I walked the famous Nicholson street from one campus to another,
The cute cup posed with blue books and then sat at a table.

This cup's message is from Liz, who is just finishing her Masters at Victoria University and considering doing a PhD next.

What a wonderful library,
And then I went for a wander . . . .

I found another baby Guerrilla work

follow this link to see her other works including the Gorgeous one on the Ballarat Road facade of VU.

and another Baby Guerrilla Work!

And then some handstands by Larissa MacFarlane

And one of the wonderful AUSSIE posters by Peter Drew
(which I love because my children also have a dash of subcontinental ethnicity but are Aussie,
thanks Peter Drew)

And some more, I think this was a project by locals. (I'll look it up later for you)

And then on the way back through the mall I met the bird lady who feeds the birds each day.

And then way down near Edgewater I spy a wonderful sunlit landscape on this cold and windy day.

placement 6 - with and with eachother - where I met some of my best friends

Well I did enjoy this one!

This sculpture sort of reminds me of foetal twins.
It has a story behind it I'm sure, but today when I placed the cup its meaning became perfectly clear . ..
its two friends having a cup of tea together.

It was public art sitting on public art.

and it was also the artist's cup!

and when I went back two hours later it was still there - the cup and the concrete sculpture!

an interesting memorial nearby
